From Furyu’s high-quality hobby brand “F:NEX,” “Ayanami Rei” from “EVANGELION” has been transformed into a Japanese doll figure.

Created as a special item to celebrate the 30th anniversary of *Evangelion*, this figure is the result of a collaboration between the long-established Japanese doll maker “Yoshitoku” and “F:NEX.” “Rei”’s characteristic quiet and dignified presence is brought to life through luxurious craftsmanship using authentic kimono fabric. The color scheme, dominated by blue and silver reminiscent of her plug suit, is accented with touches of red and salmon pink, resulting in a finish that conveys Rei’s signature ethereal quality and the elegant splendor unique to a kimono ensemble.

A special piece celebrating the 30th anniversary of Evangelion. We invite you to welcome this “Ayanami Rei” Japanese doll figure into your collection.

The costume prototype was created by doll artist Ayumi Uyama. Drawing inspiration from the movements of traditional Japanese dance, she has captured each character’s unique personality in the graceful kimono attire characteristic of Japanese dolls.

Profile
: Ayumi Uyama is a collector of Showa-era girls’ accessories and household goods; her collection of poseable dolls and French dolls, in particular, is the largest in Japan. She creates works centered on the theme of “Showa Fairy Tale,” which evokes a sense of nostalgia and cuteness. 1996– Began working on collaborative products with companies and participating in magazine serializations and various exhibitions.2001– Following the publication of her first book, she has consistently released books featuring her collections. She has also collaborated with various toy manufacturers to produce Showa-style merchandise. 2010– She has published four books, including craft books. She continues to visit antique markets and shops, and her “Showa Fairy Tale” collection continues to grow daily.

The kimono fabrics were produced in collaboration with “Nishimura Shoji Shoten,” a long-established textile merchant in Kyoto. While based on color schemes reminiscent of vintage plug suits, the kimonos have been tailored to exude a sense of elegance. You can enjoy the unique texture and beautiful patterns that only authentic kimono fabric can offer.

Profile
: Nishimura Shoji Shoten Founded in 1828 (Bunsei 11) in Kyoto’s Muromachi district as a merchant of artistic textiles. To this day, it remains a unique fabric manufacturer specializing in traditional Japanese-patterned fabrics. Rather than limiting the ancient traditions cultivated over generations to the realm of traditional beauty alone, the company continues to propose fresh design motifs for various modern lifestyle scenarios, consistently offering products that meet the needs of the times.

The obi features kinran (gold-threaded brocade) produced by “Mori-san,” a Nishijin weaving workshop in Kyoto. While featuring classic auspicious patterns, the design accentuates the individuality of each wearer.

Profile
: Morisan Founded in 1921 (Taisho 10) in Nishijin, Kyoto—a district famous for Nishijin-ori, which flourished as court attire since the Heian period.Eiko Mori, certified as a “Traditional Craftsman” of Nishijin-ori and recognized as a “Future Master Craftsman” of Kyoto City’s Traditional Industries, focuses primarily on the production of kinran. In recent years, he has launched the new brand “MORISAN” and has been actively collaborating with creators and companies both in Japan and abroad. From Kyoto, he continues to present an elegant aesthetic that fuses the traditions of Nishijin-ori with a contemporary sensibility. Painted plastic 1/4 scale complete product.
